Anna Kovaleva is a Legal Advisor in the DLA Piper’s International Trade, Regulatory and Government Affairs team and advises international companies and foreign governments on a wide range of EU legal and policy matters, with a focus on sustainability, ESG and international trade. Her experience ranges from advocacy and public affairs, to legal and compliance advice, as well as strategic communication.
She regularly advises companies in a number of sectors, including consumer and luxury goods, food, technology, financial services and life science. She has also provided diplomatic support to foreign governments in the EU and in international negotiations.
While at DLA Piper, Anna was seconded to one of the major European financial institutions, where she assisted the global legal team in navigating EU sanctions and developing internal policies.
As part of the pro bono practice, Anna regularly supports clients on climate and human rights-related issues.
Anna is the chair of the DLA Piper Diversity & Inclusion committee in Belgium and a member of the Pro Bono committee.
