Dhaksha has a broad range of corporate and funds experience in the real estate sector and has advised on corporate real estate M&A transactions, joint ventures and the structuring, establishment, and operation of real estate investment structures (including shari'ah compliant structures).

Dhaksha has experience acting for Private Equity Real Estate managers, institutional investors, REITs and developers/operators across real estate sub-sectors, including living (build-to-rent and the private rented sector), office and retail.

  • Advising Aviva Capital Partners Limited with its joint venture with Moda Living to build 1,000 build-to-rent homes in Birmingham including the structuring and establishment of its real estate investment structure.
  • Advising a US REIT with the acquisition of three UK retail parks.
  • Assisting Saudi investor on shari'ah compliant financing and the acquisition of a UK telecoms office headquarter.*
  • Acting for Kuwaiti investment powerhouse on its acquisition of a portfolio of UK out of town offices including the shari'ah structuring and financing of the transactions, as well as the acquisition of a grade A office building in central Frankfurt including and shariah structuring and financing.*
  • Advising LabTech Investments on the sale of 300,000 square foot Grade II listed landmark, Victoria House to Oxford Properties for GBP420m.*
  • Advised LabTech Investments on the sale of 7-11 Herbrand Street, an Art Deco building close to University College Hospital and University College London in London’s Knowledge Quarter to Life Science REIT for GBP85m.*
  • Advising Rocket Properties on its acquisition of One Fairchild, a prime mixed-use development scheme in Shoreditch.*
  • Advising German investment manager on the sale of prime office building in Edinburgh to a US property investment firm for GBP78m.*
  • Advised Angelo Gordon and Beltane on the acquisition of Newcombe House.*
  • Acting for a Singaporean client on the acquisition of a UK student accommodation portfolio and management platform.*
  • Assisting in advising UK housebuilder on the sale of its UK BTR portfolio to a German Investor.*
  • Assisting UK institutional investors in structuring of real estate investment structures and underlying acquisitions of real estate assets.*

Prior Experience

Dhaksha joined DLA's London office in February 2023 from a City law firm, where she trained, qualified and worked for three and a half years prior to joining DLA. Prior to becoming a solicitor, Dhaksha worked in the in-house legal team of a global commercial real estate services company.
