Alexandre Balouin practices in the area of transfer pricing, with a particular focus on financial services (banking, proprietary trading, insurance, commodity trading) and on all the value chain for asset management firms – audit review, policy planning, implementation, documentation, planning and assistance with dealing with UK and non UK tax authorities, for UK and non UK based investment funds as well as the asset management departments of insurance firms and banking institutions. 

EXPERIENCE

  • Updating and documenting global transfer pricing policies by asset classes for a North American global asset manager (USD900bn AUM), including monitoring of the profit split allocation.
  • Updating the global transfer pricing policy for a global US hedge fund (USD70bn AUM). This included documentation and designing an implementation model.
  • Auditing and reviewing the transfer pricing policy of a US proprietary trading firm (USD10bn of revenue).
  • Assisting a top tier global US investment bank with an HMRC enquiry on the trading activities between New York and London.
  • Reviewing the global policies of the commodity trading's arm of an US financial services firm for each different commodity traded (USD65bn of revenue).
  • Designing and documenting the global transfer pricing policy for a Bermuda based reinsurer (1 million of policy holders under management).
