DLA Piper strengthens Asia finance offering with Finance partner in Singapore

DLA Piper has appointed Soumitro Mukerji as a partner in its International Finance practice, based in Singapore.

Soumitro joins from Mayer Brown, where he was partner in the Banking and Finance practice. He is a banking and finance lawyer with extensive experience in the Asian and European financing markets. Throughout his career he has advised funds, banks, financial institutions, corporates and financial advisors across the full credit and geographic spectrum. His practice covers fund financings, sponsor-backed financings, structured lending, limited recourse financings, and corporate lending.

One of Soumitro’s key specialisms is fund finance and he routinely advises financiers and fund managers on a wide range of fund financing transactions across all asset classes. Since 2019, he has advised on fund finance matters exceeding USD8 billion in value.

Soumitro is qualified in both India and England & Wales, and has worked in Mumbai, London and Singapore. He joins a strong team of Finance partners in Singapore which includes Vincent Seah (also Country Managing Partner for Singapore), Matthias Schemuth and Jared Green. With his extensive experience in fund finance, as well as banking, leveraged and structured finance, across multiple markets, Soumitro’s appointment significantly enhances the firm’s client offering in Singapore.
