DLA Piper partner Gwendolyn Keyes receives 2024 Dedication to Diversity and Justice Award from ABA Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources
DLA Piper is pleased to announce that Gwendolyn Keyes, co-chair of the firm’s Environmental practice, has received the 2024 Dedication to Diversity and Justice Award from the American Bar Association’s Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources.
The award recognizes significant accomplishments or demonstrated leadership in environmental justice, as well as commitment to gender, racial and ethnic diversity in the field of environment, energy and natural resources law in the US. A champion for environmental justice communities during her prior service as the USEPA Region 4 Regional Administrator and Chief of Staff to the EPA Administrator, Keyes recently completed her appointment as Co-Chair for the American Bar Association’s inaugural Environmental Justice Task Force. In this capacity, she shepherded a group of lawyers, academics and environmental justice advocates as they drafted almost 50 recommendations for practicing lawyers to assist environmental justice communities.
In her practice, Keyes advises a wide variety of business, institutional and organizational clients on all aspects of environmental policy, government relations, compliance planning, incident response, subsequent enforcement and litigation matters and special investigations for private and municipal clients. She also advises clients on environment, social and governance (ESG) issues and the impacts climate change can have on business operations.
