DLA Piper strengthens Corporate and Insurance practice with appointment of a new partner

DLA Piper announces the strengthening of its Corporate and Insurance capability with the appointment of Cristina Gabardi as a partner in its Milan office, effective today.

Joining from an International law firm, where she has been since 2020, Cristina is a highly experienced lawyer in corporate and commercial law. She supports an impressive roster of domestic and international clients across a range of private equity matters, insurance M&A, particularly in Warranties and Indemnities (the policies guaranteeing indemnity obligations in extraordinary transactions and Contingent Risk). Cristina's leading profile in these markets is widely recognised in Italy and further afield.

Beatrice Rebecca Gavino and Carolina Giulia Scolari, both lawyers who have worked closely with Cristina will also join DLA Piper's Corporate practice in Milan.

DLA Piper's Corporate practice in Italy, led by Giulio Maroncelli, has grown, now with 12 partners and over 50 lawyers. The firm's Insurance Sector in Italy, led by Bruno Giuffrè, is characterized by its multidisciplinary approach, testament to the contribution of the wider International team.

Cristina's appointment strengthens the development of DLA Piper's International Insurance sector offering, and follows the appointment of Carl Hotton who joined our UK Corporate insurance practice in March 2024, and Virginie Frémat and her team in Belgium in September 2024.
