DLA Piper is pleased to announce that the firm received multiple accolades as part of Law.com’s 2024 New England Legal Awards, including the Real Estate Firm of the Year award. Additionally, DLA Piper partner John Rattigan was named a winner of the Lifetime Achievement award, partner Barbara Trachtenberg was named a finalist in the Partner of the Year category and of counsel Paul B. Lewis was named a winner in the New Leaders in the Law category.

In his practice, Rattigan advises developers, institutions, public agencies and investors in the acquisition, development, sale and leasing of large-scale real estate projects. He has been lead counsel for many of Boston's most important and transformative real estate developments.

Trachtenberg serves as co-vice chair of the firm’s Real Estate practice and is a trusted advisor to real estate investors. Her clients include developers, institutional investors, REITs, pension funds and investment advisors who invest in diverse asset classes including office, multi-family properties, retail, industrial, self-storage and data centers.

Lewis is a first-chair litigator who has secured dispositive defensive victories on behalf of clients in appellate litigation, contract disputes, consumer-facing class actions, franchise disputes, wrongful death actions, real estate disputes and extortionate business practice allegations.

The annual New England Legal Awards recognize professional excellence within the legal community across Connecticut, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Winners will be announced in finalist categories and all honorees will be recognized at an awards dinner on September 26 in Boston.
