DLA Piper adds preeminent entertainment attorneys Stacy Marcus and Michael Isselin

DLA Piper is pleased to welcome entertainment and advertising attorneys Stacy Marcus and Michael Isselin as New York-based partners in the firm’s Trademark, Copyright & Media Practice.

Marcus advises clients on all aspects of advertising and entertainment law, including celebrity endorsement, influencer and talent agreements, SAG-AFTRA issues, agency-client agreements, product integration deals, licensing, and corporate sponsorships. Her clients include global luxury retailers, advertising agencies, media companies and major digital platforms. Marcus is also the first woman to serve as the chief negotiator for the Joint Policy Committee, the bargaining representative for the advertising industry in negotiations for the multi-billion-dollar commercials collective bargaining agreements with SAG-AFTRA and the American Federation of Musicians. She has held that role since 2018 after serving as legal counsel to the JPC beginning in 2009.

Isselin’s practice focuses on the advertising industry across a wide range of areas, including talent and influencer marketing, SAG-AFTRA issues, celebrity endorsements, content creation and licensing, sponsorships, and sports marketing. He advises a roster of high-profile clients who rely on his negotiation skills and deep industry knowledge to secure lucrative endorsement deals with the world's top celebrities.  In addition, he serves as legal counsel to the JPC.

“Stacy and Michael have highly sophisticated practices advising leading brands and major media companies, especially when it comes to negotiating SAG-AFTRA collective bargaining agreements and other high-profile deals. We are excited they have joined our team,” said Tamar Duvdevani, US chair of DLA Piper’s Trademark, Copyright & Media Practice.

“Stacy and Michael’s extensive experience and depth of knowledge in advertising and entertainment law are well-known and sought-after in the industry. Their addition expands the firm’s advertising capabilities in New York and beyond,” said Cara Edwards, managing partner of DLA Piper’s New York office.

In addition to joining the firm’s Trademark, Copyright & Media Practice, Marcus and Isselin will work closely alongside DLA Piper’s established Music, Sport and Entertainment Sector and Advertising, Marketing and Promotions teams.
