DLA Piper advises Affidea on acquisition of Medisport Medical Centre

DLA Piper has advised Affidea, an international network of imaging, diagnostic, and oncology treatment centres, on the acquisition of Medisport Medical Centre in Lublin in eastern Poland.

Medisport Medical Centre Lublin offers a wide range of services, including magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, x-ray, specialist consultations, and surgical and orthopedic procedures.

The acquisition will allow Affidea to expand its operations into the Lublin region and leverage the long-standing international experience of the Affidea Group. The acquisition will also allow Affidea to offer a one-day surgery, which significantly shortens a patient's hospital stay, by utilising minimally invasive and modern techniques.

A team from the Corporate practice of DLA Piper’s Warsaw office - partner Piotr Miller, senior associate Anna Chrabota-Bajson, associate Jakub Niemiec, and junior associate Aleksander Stanek - worked on the transaction.

Tax advice was provided by partner Bartosz Matusik, senior associate Ewelina Jaworska, and junior associate Izabela Wychowaniec.

Robert Herodek, senior director of DLA Piper Business Advisory provided support with the financial aspects of the transaction.
