DLA Piper Canada welcomes partners Daniel Shapira and Jonathan Born
We are pleased to welcome Toronto-based partners Daniel Shapira and Jonathan Born to our Real Estate practice.
Daniel practices commercial real estate law with a focus on property development, sales, acquisitions, joint ventures, commercial leasing and financing transactions, including land development and construction loans, acquisition facilities and operating facilities. Daniel also advises underwriters on a variety of capital market transactions involving numerous real estate investment trusts. Daniel has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in Canada for his work in Real Estate Law and as a “Leading Lawyer to Watch” in the area of Property Development in The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory.
Jonathan (Jon) practices commercial real estate law, with a particular emphasis on real estate investment transactions and property development. Jon provides business focused advice to clients on all aspects of real estate matters, including the acquisition, disposition, management, operation, financing and development of all property types, as well as joint ventures, partnerships and commercial leasing. Jon has a particular expertise in structuring and leading real estate investment transactions and development projects, including advising on tax considerations and has experience with complex transactions involving natural resources, technology, hospitality, lending platforms, and other unique operating businesses.
