DLA Piper advises Elgin Energy on the sale of a 100 MW solar portfolio to Pennon Group PLC
DLA Piper has advised Elgin Energy, a leading international independent solar and storage developer, on the sale of a 100 MW portfolio of three solar PV projects across the UK to Pennon Group PLC, an England-based water utility company.
The portfolio includes three projects located in sites in Buckinghamshire, Aberdeenshire, and Cumbria, each with a capacity range from 15 MW to 50 MW and a combined capacity of 100 MW. It is expected that all projects will be operational during 2025.
“We are delighted to once again advise Elgin Energy on a solar portfolio sale in the UK, which will generate over 95 GWh of renewable electricity on an annual basis. This additionality will help to contribute towards the UK’s 2050 Net Zero Strategy,” commented Natasha Luther-Jones, Global Co-Chair of the Energy and Natural Resources sector and lead partner in the transaction.
Elgin Energy’s sale is a further milestone in a strategy to develop and deliver on its 14 GW project pipeline in the UK, Ireland and Australia.
