DLA Piper advise Real Foods on amalgamation transaction with Virgin Active

DLA Piper has advised Real Foods, a multi-brand food group based in South Africa on the GBP28.6 million (R581 million) amalgamation of their Kauai and Nü restaurant chains into the Virgin Active Group.

Real Food is a multi-brand food group focusing on selling vegetarian and non-vegetarian fresh products to the market.

Virgin Active is one of the largest global fitness brands which owns a chain of more than 200 health clubs across multiple countries, including South Africa and has more than 1 million members worldwide. The group is part-owned by Richard Branson’s Virgin Group and private equity firm Brait SE.
