DLA Piper advises AirTrunk on 'multi-billion dollar' Sydney data centre campus

Global law firm DLA Piper has advised hyperscale data centre specialist AirTrunk on the acquisition of a new site with multi-billion dollar plans to create Asia-Pacific’s largest data centre campus outside China.

AirTrunk designs, builds and operates some of the Asia Pacific's largest carrier-neutral hyperscale data centres in Sydney, Melbourne, Singapore and Hong Kong, offering more than 1 gigawatt of capacity across its data centre platform.

The new facility dubbed SYD3, will have more than 320 megawatts of capacity and be built on an 8.3 hectare site close to AirTrunk’s original SYD1 hyperscale data centre. 

DLA Piper’s team was led by Sydney based Real Estate partner Kate Pickthall, and senior associate Carolyn Harding-Smith with assistance from Melbourne Corporate and AirTrunk relationship partner Shane Bilardi.
