Former United States Magistrate Judge Andrew J. Peck to join Litigation practice in New York

DLA Piper announced today that former United States Magistrate Judge Andrew J. Peck will join the firm's Litigation practice as senior counsel in the New York office.

Judge Peck has served as a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York since he took the bench in 1995, including a term as chief magistrate judge from 2004 to 2005. He currently serves as co-chair of the SDNY-EDNY Local Rules Committee. Prior to taking the bench, Judge Peck was a litigator at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, focusing on intellectual property matters. Judge Peck is well-known as one of the preeminent jurists on electronic discovery issues and was recently appointed to the steering committee of the Sedona Conference Working Group 1, which aims to develop principles, guidance and best practice recommendations for e-discovery.

Judge Peck received his J.D. from Duke University School of Law, where he was an editor of the Duke Law Journal, and his B.A. from Cornell University.
