Sean Cope is a real estate and hospitality lawyer, with almost ten years' experience advising developers, investors and corporate occupiers on their real estate needs in the Middle East and Africa.
Sean has acted for both developers and operators of hotel, branded residences and mixed-use development projects and uses this experience of sitting on both sides of the table to anticipate and propose solutions to help clients to overcome the tricky issues.
Ranked as a 'Rising Star' by Legal 500 (UAE, 2022), Sean has undertaken client secondments with two listed companies, one of London's largest real estate developers and a global cloud computing provider. Through these client secondments, Sean has developed a keen understanding of the challenges in-house counsel face and the expectations placed upon outside counsel.
Sean has written about the potential for tokenized fractional ownership of real estate in the Middle East and, working alongside Financial Regulatory and Technology colleagues, has been involved in strategic discussions with major developers on the land law considerations applicable to potential structuring models.
