DLA Piper named to the National Law Journal’s 2022 Appellate Hot List
DLA Piper is pleased to announce that the firm was named to the National Law Journal’s 2022 Appellate Hot List, which recognizes law firms with significant appellate wins in the last year and impressive track records overall.
DLA Piper was recognized in part for securing a complete victory for Novo Nordisk at the Ninth Circuit in the long-running Incretin-Based Therapies Products Liability Litigation, a decision that followed nearly eight years of litigation. Ilana Eisenstein and Stan Panikowski, co-chairs of DLA Piper's Appellate Advocacy practice, told the National Law Journal that the team’s collaborative culture and ability to manage complex, high-stakes matters contributed greatly to its success in this case and others over the past year.
“We seamlessly blended lawyers with technical and non-technical backgrounds from various practices and offices across the country,” they told the publication. “Together we crafted strategies aimed not only at ‘winning the day,’ but also toward ultimately locking down those victories on appeal.”
DLA Piper’s Appellate Advocacy practice is made up of seasoned appellate lawyers with experience handling all aspects of state and federal appeals, including before the US Supreme Court. The team provides aggressive, creative and practical representation for clients looking to preserve their victories or rectify their losses on appeal in complex areas of litigation such as product liability, complex commercial disputes, multi-district litigation, administrative law, white collar defense, environmental litigation, antitrust and intellectual property.
