DLA Piper Canada welcomes partners Daniel Shapira and Jonathan Born

We are pleased to welcome Toronto-based partners Daniel Shapira and Jonathan ‎Born to our Real Estate practice. ‎

Daniel practices commercial real estate law with a focus on ‎property development, sales, acquisitions, joint ventures, ‎commercial leasing and financing transactions, ‎including ‎land development and construction loans, acquisition ‎facilities and operating facilities.‎ Daniel also advises ‎underwriters on a variety of capital market transactions ‎involving numerous real estate ‎investment trusts‎.‎ Daniel has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in ‎Canada for his work in Real Estate Law and as a “Leading ‎Lawyer to Watch” in the area of Property Development in ‎The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory.‎

Jonathan (Jon) practices commercial real estate law, with a ‎particular emphasis on real estate investment transactions ‎and ‎property development.‎ Jon provides business focused ‎advice to clients on all aspects of real estate matters, ‎including the ‎acquisition, disposition, management, ‎operation, financing and development of all property types, ‎as well ‎as joint ventures, partnerships and commercial ‎leasing.‎ Jon has a particular expertise in structuring and leading real estate investment transactions and ‎development projects, including advising on tax considerations and has experience with complex ‎transactions involving natural resources, technology, hospitality, lending platforms, and other unique ‎operating businesses. ‎
