 Vanessa Patrocínio is an intellectual property and technology lawyer, with over 15 years’ experience advising wide-ranging national and multinational companies in different sectors with particular focus on privacy and data protection, cybersecurity, e-commerce, technology, telecom, media and entertainment, advertising, consumer law and commercial contracts.

Vanessa has extensive and comprehensive experience in data protection, privacy and cybersecurity, including assisting clients in several GDPR implementation projects and ensuring data protection and cybersecurity compliance on an ongoing basis. She is also particularly experienced in the area of technology, on matters such as projects involving emerging technologies and new products, e-commerce, software licencing and cloud computing. Vanessa is also active assisting clients with regulatory issues pertaining to electronic communications, advertising and consumer law.   • Assisting various national and international clients on cybersecurity and data breach preparedness and response including advising on GDPR, NISD, Cybercrime Law and other relevant legislation, policy drafting to address the security requirements, internal training and notifications to regulators and affected individuals.
  • Assisting national and international clients in the scope of e-commerce, e-procurement, e-signature and internet contents, including the world’s leading information society service providers.
  • Advising several national and international clients in the deployment of projects involving new technologies, such as connected and autonomous vehicles, eHealth products and other technological solutions.
  • Advising national and international fixed, mobile and satellite communications operators in regulatory and licensing matters, including representation before the Portuguese telecom regulator (ANACOM) and specific issues such as submarine cable landings and implementation of new technologies in communication networks.
  • Assisting national and international clients in drafting commercial and technology contracts, including outsourcing and software license agreements, cloud computing (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS), product and service supply, distribution, agency and franchising agreements.
  • Assisting national and international clients in advertising matters and unfair commercial practices, including several leading companies in the food and beverages industry.
