DLA Piper advises Azelis on Hortimex acquisition
DLA Piper has advised Azelis, a leading innovation service provider in specialty chemicals and the food ingredients industry, on the acquisition of 100% of the shares of Hortimex, a leading distributor of food ingredients with a focus on non-meat applications.
The transaction expands Azelis' footprint in Poland, complementing its lateral value chain in the food and nutrition segment.
Hortimex is a leading distributor of food ingredients for use in human nutrition, functional preparations, confectionery, and bakery. The business is supported by a team of 35 employees, including experienced sales and technical specialists, serving over 800 customers.
A team from DLA Piper's Warsaw office worked on the transaction and was led by Jakub Domalik-Plakwicz, Partner in the Corporate practice, and Counsel Anna Chrabota-Bajson. They were supported by Senior Associate Kamila Możdżeń and Junior Associates Natalia Potrubacz and Michał Bandurski.
The transaction's completion is subject to approval from Poland's Office of Competition and Consumer Protection.
