Tayla is a corporate lawyer specialising in both domestic and cross-border M&A and private equity transactions as well as on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including commercial contracting, corporate advisory and governance.

In addition, Tayla also regularly advises industry-leading warranty and indemnity insurers throughout the Asia-Pacific region on the provision of warranty and indemnity insurance for large-scale New Zealand and cross-border transactions.

Tayla supports clients across several industries but has particular expertise in the technology, media and consumer goods, food and retail sectors.

  • Advising Five V Capital on its divestment of Totara Learning Solutions to Tenzing, a European private equity investor.
  • Advising San Franscisco-based managed IT and software company Evergreen Services Group on its acquisition of A/NZ managed service provider Lancom Technology.
  • Advising a global investment firm on its first renewable energy investment in New Zealand.
  • Advising warranty and indemnity insurers across the Asia-Pacific region including AIG, Liberty Global Solutions, Brockwell Capital and Beazley on the provision of buy-side and sell-side warranty and indemnity insurance for large-scale New Zealand and cross-border transactions.
  • Advising the Dairy Farms Partnership (owned by the Harvard University Endowment Fund) in its completion of the sale of six operating dairy farms in Central Otago, New Zealand to NZRLC Dairy Holdings Limited, a subsidiary of NZX-listed company New Zealand Rural Land Company.
  • Advising a franchisee of a large international retailer on the completion of acquisitions and conversion of farm land to forestry throughout New Zealand, including assisting with overseas investment applications.
  • Advising on the sell-down of shares in a large food distributor based in the upper North Island specialising in fast-moving consumer goods and manuka honey operations in supermarkets and other retail channels to an international sugar manufacturer.
