Shervin advises across all points in the continuum of contentious and non-contentious cyber security, data protection and other digital regulation. He has many years' experience supporting hundreds of clients across most areas relating to data protection and cyber security. In recent years, he has specialised in acting as breach counsel for clients during crises; advising on cyber remediation workstreams (including presenting cyber table-top exercises); supporting with internal and regulatory investigations; and other data or cyber disputes whether connected to a breach or otherwise.

Shervin has been consistently recognised as a leading ‘key lawyer’ in multiple editions of Data Protection, Privacy and Cyber Security in Legal500.

Shervin has been seconded to seven high-profile multinational businesses across sectors to support with strategic data compliance implementation. This experience has resulted in unique insights into different businesses' management and use of data and innovative technologies that means he is often called upon to provide pragmatic and commercially focussed solutions for his clients.  Shervin also spent two years early in his career working for the Competition and Markets Authority, offering a unique regulatory perspective to the benefit of his clients.

Shervin is a co-author of the second edition of Data Protection and Compliance book (published by the British Computer Society). He co-hosts a vodcast called "Cyber Security in Sixty Seconds ish". He has also featured as an expert speaker on FTI Consulting’s ‘The Expert Briefing’ podcast episode on Cybersecurity Due Diligence in the M&A process. Shervin also publishes cyber security and data protection articles.

  • Lead senior investigator on a high-profile criminal investigation that was headlined in The Times newspaper.
  • Lead senior supporting two large ad-tech clients through an ICO regulatory audit and investigation over several years, which included interviews and multiple rounds of submissions defending alleged non-compliance with data protection and e-privacy laws.
  • Breach counsel for multiple clients, including some of the most serious cyber incidents to have impacted UK and global clients.
  • Supporting multiple global multinationals in the banking, technology and insurance sectors with digital regulation compliance programmes and ad-hoc advice (including in relation to: NIS2, AI, Cyber Resilience Act, DORA, eIDAS and the Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework).
  • Regularly advising clients on data protection and e-privacy advisory queries including in relation to data risk assessments, transparency notices, data mapping and data subject rights.
