Erica advises clients throughout the lifecycle of their brand – from trademark clearance, prosecution, and portfolio management, through the enforcement of rights before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. She has considerable experience working with companies across a wide variety of sectors, including leading retail brands and financial institutions. Additionally, Erica frequently conducts intellectual property due diligence for corporate transactions.
While at Duke University School of Law, Erica served as the president of the Black Law Students Association and was an active member of the Wrongful Convictions Clinic where she worked to exonerate individuals incarcerated for crimes they did not commit. After her first year of law school, Erica spent her summer serving as a Law Clerk for the Senate Judiciary Committee where she conducted research on recently introduced copyright legislation and participated in briefings and roundtable discussions with the U.S. Copyright Office.
Prior to law school, Erica worked as a paralegal in the intellectual property and technology space and served as a Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) Law Fellow in Washington, D.C.
Erica is currently on the board of the D.C. Women’s Bar Association Foundation.
