DLA Piper's Sanctions Matrix Quarterly Update - July 2024
We are pleased to announce the publication of our quarterly Sanctions Matrix, July 2024 edition.
The Matrix summaries all US, UK, EU and Canada sanctions currently in force and is updated on a quarterly basis.
Key updates in the July 2024 edition include:
- In the UK, newly introduced director disqualification sanctions and reporting obligations, and the abolition of UK’s Burundi sanctions regime.
- In the US, the expansion of secondary sanctions against Russia and the introduction of the 21st Century Peace through Strength Act which, among other things, extends the statute of limitations period from 5 to 10 years for certain sanctions violations.
- In the EU, the 14th sanctions package concerning Russia encompassing due diligence requirements for non-EU subsidiaries as well as a new round of sanctions on Belarus.
- The introduction of Canada sanctions to the Matrix, a new feature in this edition.
