DLA Piper Canada advised FansUnite on sale of its Betting Hero business to Betting Hero co-founders and GeoComply

DLA Piper Canada has advised FansUnite Entertainment Inc. (TSX:FANS) (OTCQX: FUNFF) ("FansUnite"), on the sale of its Betting Hero business to the Betting Hero co-founders and GeoComply for US$37.5 million.‎ FansUnite anticipates net proceeds from the sale its business to be distributed to its shareholders and the transaction to close on or about August 15, 2024.

FansUnite is a global sports entertainment and gaming company, focused on the regulated and lawful sports betting and iGaming market which includes sports betting, customer acquisition, retention, support and reactivation. Betting Hero is the pioneering operator partner focused on customer activation, retention, and development for sports betting in the US. GeoComply provides fraud prevention and cybersecurity solutions that detect location fraud and help verify a user's true digital identity, with geolocation solutions installed on over 400 million devices and analyzing over a billion transactions every month.

DLA Piper Canada assisted FansUnite‎ in this transaction with a team led by Denis Silva and Jamie Mandell and including Kevin Fritz, Ilia Danef, Ryan Black, Kaleigh Nevin and Patrick Webb. The Canadian team was supported by Andrew Ledbetter and Braden Penhoet of DLA Piper US.

Previously, DLA Piper assisted FansUnite on its TSX listing, acquisition of various assets, and the sale of Chameleon Gaming Platform ‎and McBookie Ltd.‎, among other matters.
