DLA Piper advises InvestBev in partnership with a global asset manager to invest up to US$100 million in Kentucky Bourbon barrels
DLA Piper advised InvestBev Group (InvestBev), a private equity firm in the adult beverage industry, in entering into a partnership with a leading global asset manager to invest up to US$100 million in Kentucky Bourbon barrels.
This partnership leverages InvestBev's position as a force in spirits investing, paired with the asset manager's capital and extensive structuring experience. The partnership will seek to acquire bourbon barrels under five years of age, holding them until maturity.
“Without the team at DLA Piper, this deal does not get done. We leaned on them heavily throughout the process,” said Brian Rosen, CEO of InvestBev.
“We were pleased to advise InvestBev on this strategic investment partnership and support the entire InvestBev team in their mission to identify attractive assets in the spirits sector,” said Yoni Tuchman, the DLA Piper partner who led the fund formation team.
In addition to Tuchman (Los Angeles), the DLA Piper team included tax partner Anil Kalia (San Francisco), counsel Aimee Albright (Chicago) and associate Connor Moldo (Los Angeles).
