Stephen Taeusch represents employers before state and federal courts, administrative agencies and alternative dispute resolution bodies in a wide variety of employment matters, including wage and hour, wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, unfair business practices and retaliation matters. Stephen has special expertise in wage and hour matters and has helped clients defeat class, collective and representative actions and defend those successes through the appeals process.
In addition to working with clients to achieve favorable litigation outcomes, Stephen helps employers avoid the cost and distraction of litigation by providing pragmatic advice on all aspects of the employment relationship, including wage and hour compliance, discrimination and harassment avoidance, proper classification of workers, disciplinary matters, leave obligations and disability accommodation and restrictive covenants. Stephen also regularly assists clients in the negotiation and drafting of employment-related documents, including offer letters, employment agreements, employee handbooks, arbitration agreements, separation agreements, incentive compensation agreements and confidentiality agreements.
Stephen also handles the employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions, financings, asset transactions and joint ventures.
