DLA Piper advises FreightWise in its acquisition of TMS provider Kuebix
DLA Piper advised FreightWise, a Nashville-based logistics technology company, in its acquisition of transportation management system (TMS) provider Kuebix.
FreightWise helps businesses streamline freight processes and save money by combining their carrier volume and relationships to reduce freight costs. The addition of Kuebix will support FreightWise’s expansion into the small and midsize business market as well as capitalize on their robust presence in the large shipper market.
FreightWise will continue to invest in Kuebix’s product suite and provide stability and continuity for its existing customers. Additionally, the acquisition will enhance FreightWise’s supply chain offerings and transportation management services.
“We were excited to work with the DLA Piper team and acquire a great application in Kuebix, allowing us to expand our customer reach and provide a wider range of offerings to the marketplace,” said Chris Cochran, CEO and co-founder of FreightWise.
“We were pleased to support our client FreightWise in their acquisition of Kuebix, a reliable and broad-based TMS, as it sought to serve a wider spectrum of customers with diverse service models,” said Eric Grossman, vice chair of DLA Piper’s private equity group and the partner who led the deal team.
In addition to Grossman (Northern Virginia), the team was comprised of partners Thomas Hendershot (Northern Virginia); of counsel Isabel De Obaldia (Northern Virginia); and associate Sam Neece (Dallas).
