DLA Piper advises VimpelCom on acquisition of Russian cloud computing provider IBS DataFort
DLA Piper has advised VimpelCom, a major Russian mobile operator working under the Beeline brand and owned by global connectivity and internet services provider Veon, on the acquisition of IBS DataFort, a leading provider of cloud-based IT services in Russia.
IBS DataFort is a large and fast-growing independent provider of cloud IT infrastructure and information security services, and one of the leading PureCloud companies focused on developing an advanced cloud platform. The company offers managed services for private, public and hybrid clouds to process the full range of business tasks, including cloud services for large and medium-sized businesses, such as infrastructure as a service, platform as a service, software as a service and information security as a service.
With IBS DataFort’s digital infrastructure and expertise, the acquisition will enable VimpelCom to expand its portfolio of business-to-business and business-to-government cloud services. VimpelCom also plans to use this platform to develop further products and integrated solutions in the area of cloud technologies, cybersecurity, big data and the internet of things.
