Ignacio Jiménez is a finance, restructuring and financial technology lawyer, with over 6 years of experience advising multinational groups from an in-house and external advisory perspective and with a particular focus on international restructurings, cross-border financings and international issuances of debt.

Ignacio is qualified in both Spain and Luxembourg to practise law which enables him to look at international transactions from a holistic European perspective.

Ignacio's clients are multinational groups covering sectors such as financial, pharmaceutical, aviation, telecommunications, and energy.

During the last few years, Ignacio has advised on some of Europe’s largest acquisition financing and restructuring transactions which have enabled him to assist multinational groups in situations of distress or simply when the stakes are high and efficient legal assistance is required.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising a private equity group's raising of funds for an amount of 11.5bn by means of a notes issuance programme.
  • Advising an aviation multinational group on its debt and corporate restructuring (including its refinancing) during the COVID-19 pandemic. This transaction helped maintain the operations and financial stability of the company.
  • Advising on a financing for a US security and protection services group’s acquisition of UK protection services group. This transaction consolidated the US security and protection services group as the largest in the world.
  • Advising a private equity group for the raising of funds by way of loans and issuance of noted for the acquisition of a famous German sandal and shoemaker.
  • Advising a Greek leading metal manufacturer group on its journey to refinance itself by way of issuance of green notes then listed and admitted to trading on the Luxembourg Green Exchange.
  • Advising an Icelandic pharmaceutical group’s bond and loan restructuring and business combination in order to facilitate its listing on NASDAQ.
