Prior to joining DLA Piper, Brittany was the Pro Bono Coordinator for the Los Angeles office of a major AmLaw 5 international firm, receiving the firm’s Pro Bono Award in 2019. A representative sample of her pro bono activities include:
- Led the Immigration Impact Project, where she facilitated trainings and staffing of immigration-related pro bono cases for Southern California, and personally secured asylum and permanent resident status for a client from Uganda persecuted because of her LGBTQ+ status
- Coordinated National Adoption Day, where she organized and enabled adoption hearings for children in the greater Los Angeles area, and personally led successful adoption hearings for nine children
- Drafted an amici curiae brief to the U.S. Supreme Court, challenging an executive order banning travel and immigration from six majority-Muslim countries
Prior Experience
Prior to joining DLA Piper, Brittany Ellenberg led the Transactional Employment Law Practice at a Big Four Accounting Firm. Her work involved acting as the lead counsel for the contingent labor workforce and global employee mobility portfolios for the Office of the General Counsel. Her team's efforts enabled the organization to leverage international talent effectively, evidenced by successfully negotiating and drafting a Professional Services Agreement across approximately 170 countries. Prior to joining DLA Piper, Brittany Ellenberg led the Transactional Employment Law Practice at a Big Four Accounting Firm. Her work involved acting as the lead counsel for the contingent labor workforce and global employee mobility portfolios for the Office of the General Counsel. Her team's efforts enabled the organization to leverage international talent effectively, evidenced by successfully negotiating and drafting a Professional Services Agreement across approximately 170 countries. Brittany advised and counseled on all matters of employment and labor law across global business lines, such as reductions in force, recruiting, internal investigations, pay data reporting requirements, immigration, and worker classification.
Brittany also was a Senior Associate in the Labor and Employment Group for a major, AmLaw 5 international law firm. Her role called for a robust blend of advice and counseling, managing employment-related aspects of multinational corporate transactions, and drafting and negotiating complex employment and consulting agreements. Brittany served as the firm’s Pro Bono Coordinator for its Los Angeles office, founded and led the West Coast LGBTQ+ Affinity Network, and was a member of the Steering Committee for both the firm-wide Immigration Impact Project and Women’s Affinity Network.
