DLA Piper Chile welcomes Francisca Franzani as a partner in the Compliance and White-Collar Crime Practice

DLA Piper Chile is pleased to welcome partner Francisca Franzani to the Compliance and White-Collar Crime Practice. Franzani is joined by two associates, Jaime Viveros and Francisca Macchiavello.

Franzani provides guidance to clients on the creation and development of sustainable corporate compliance culture in companies. She advises on all aspects of Chile’s criminal liability law and the recently implemented Economic Crimes Law, including the identification, prevention and management of operational and legal risks. She also represents clients on local and cross-border government-led and internal investigations on complex issues including bribery and corruption, money laundering, and sanctions breaches, among others.

Notable examples of Franzani and her team’s experience include the representation of a multinational company in a criminal investigation of environmental crimes; a multinational company in a highly complex investigation and public exposure in relation to possible crimes of corruption, fraud, and unfair administration; and an international mining company in risk mitigation measures for a commercial operation in Chile.

“Francisca is a top-notch compliance attorney with strong ties to Chile and will be an asset to clients looking to do business both regionally and on a larger global scale,” said Rick Chesley, the firm’s global managing partner.

“We are thrilled to welcome Francisca to the firm and are confident she will strengthen our corporate compliance and white-collar crime practices. We look forward to having Francisca and her team participate in multiple ongoing local and cross-border initiatives at the firm,” said Matías Zegers, managing partner of DLA Piper Chile.
