Gordon advises on planning and infrastructure consenting for all types of development including, large mixed-use redevelopment schemes, transport, and renewable energy.  

He has experience of advising operators and developers on planning law issues in connection with the purchase, sale, development, and ongoing management of energy infrastructure.

Gordon also works on large-scale and complex development sites for local authorities, matters relating to planning applications, planning agreements, appeals and judicial reviews.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising an offshore windfarm operator on submitting objections to a DCO, including on impacts of wake loss; reviewing environmental statement and protective provisions.
  • Advising Elgin Energy on the sale of a 100 MW solar portfolio and various other solar projects.
  • Acting for a large quarry operator on an application for a proposed expansion including the associated environmental impact assessment.
  • Providing strategic planning advice on the purchase of a prominent Edinburgh listed building within a conservation area.
  • Advising a local authority on multiple complex residential and mixed-use schemes including drafting the associated planning agreements.
