Francisco (Paco) is a Legal Director in the Corporate/M&A practice in Spain advising on all areas of corporate law with a particular focus on national and cross-border M&A, joint ventures, private equity investments, and venture capital. His experience includes private share and business acquisitions/disposals, domestic and multi-jurisdictional, private equity investments, corporate venture capital investments, and joint ventures/strategic alliances, and corporate reorganizations, covering all industries such as technology, consumer goods, life sciences/healthcare, industrials, and infrastructure (including energy and renewables), and media, and entertainment.

At DLA Piper he has acted for numerous corporates, PE investors, funds, and (corporate) venture capitalists.

  • Advising Paladin Capital on its 30 million investment in IriusRisk, the world's leading Open Threat Modeling platform.
  • Advising Kingsley Gate on the acquisition of Seeliger y Conde, a leading executive talent recruitment firm in Spain.
  • Advising BIG Language Solutions, LLC on the acquisition of 100% of the shares in Lawlinguists S.r.l. and, indirectly, its subsidiaries Lawlinguists International SL and Lawlinguists Deutschland GmbH
  • Advising Infravia Capital Partners on its lead investment of 65m of Stratio BD, Europe’s leading data fabric provider, together with Adara.
  • Advising Top Tier Capital Partners on its investment in Typeform (software company specializing in online forms and polls) in the 135 million Series C funding led by Sofina, together with General Atlantic and other returning investors.
  • Advising Rakuten Capital on various financing rounds in global delivery app, Glovo.
  • Advising Rakuten Capital and Seaya and others on their investment in Hundredrooms, and apartment meta-search engine.
  • Advising Advent on its majority stake acquisition (together with Cemex, key strategic partner) of Neoris, a digital transformation consultancy company.
  • Advising Fever on various acquisitions (domestic and cross-border).
  • Advising Emeritus, the global leader in making high-quality education accessible and affordable to individuals, companies, and governments around the world, on its acquisition of Global Alumni, Euro-american Edtech.
  • Advising PE backed Masair, air cargo and logistics services provider, on its minority investment in ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance) airline and lease specialist, Galistair.
  • Advising Elevar and Imaginable Futures on their investments in Latam Edtech, Grupo Vida.
  • Advising GP Bullhound on its lead Series A investment in Busuu, a language learning platform on web, iOS and Android that allows users to interact with native speakers.
  • Advising IDC Ventures on its investment Series C investment in Byhours, a hotel rental marketplace.
  • Advising Aquila Capital on a joint venture for the development of a paneuropean data centre portfolio.
  • Advising Afr-ix Telecom S.L. on the new submarine cable between Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Greece and Cyprus with Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Egypt.

  • Advising Macquarie Infrastructure Partners V, an Americas-focused, unlisted infrastructure fund managed by Macquarie Asset Management (MAM), on its acquisition of 50% of Odinsa’s stake in airport concessionaries in Ecuador and Colombia.
  • Advising Lineage Logistics Holdings, LLC, the world’s largest and most innovative temperature-controlled logistics company, backed by financial sponsor Bay Grove Management Company, LLC, on the acquisition of Frinavarra and Frioastur, leading temperature-controlled logistics service providers in Spain offering advanced food logistics services to production, trading, transport and retail customers.
