Buffy Mims joins DLA Piper’s Litigation and Regulatory practice in Washington, DC

DLA Piper announced today that Buffy Mims has joined the firm’s Litigation and Regulatory practice as a partner in Washington, DC.

Mims handles cases in a wide range of areas, including product liability, toxic torts, commercial, consumer fraud and internal investigations. She represents clients in the automotive, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, government contracts and retail industries.

 

“Buffy is an accomplished trial lawyer with a strong track record of success as lead trial counsel, as well as extensive experience defending clients in complex litigation in both state and federal multidistrict proceedings,” said Loren Brown, DLA Piper’s US vice chair - disputes. “Her impressive trial skills and her experience across a number of important sectors in which our clients do business make her an ideal fit for our global litigation platform.”

Mims joins from Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP, where she co-led the firm’s diversity and inclusion initiatives. She received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and her B.A. from Temple University.
