Juliana is a partner of Campos Mello Advogados with over 15 years’ experience in the tax practice.

Juliana’s practice emphasis is in tax planning and consulting to Brazilian and foreign clients across a variety of industries, including energy, technology, oil & gas, financial market, venture capital, telecommunication, infrastructure, among others.

Juliana has extensive experience advising clients on the tax implications arising from corporate reorganizations, M&As, debt restructurings, cross-border transactions, domestic taxation, including imports/exports and routine tax issues.

In addition, Juliana also advises on tax judicial and administrative litigation at federal, state and municipal levels.

Admitted to practice law in Brazil, Juliana completed her Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Advanced Studies in International Tax Law at the International Tax Center - Leiden University, The Netherlands.

EXPERIENCE

Juliana advised EPL on all tax related aspects of its expansion to the Brazilian market.

Juliana advised Siemens Energy for transactional and tax advice in connection with the shareholding reorganization and related matters of the company’s project of a 1.3 GW LNG-fired thermal power plant in the largest LNG-to-power project in Latin America, with total project volume of €1 billion –, including support to the client in its negotiation with the project company and co-sponsors.

Juliana advised Excelerate on several tax impacts related to Petrobras’s bidding process for the lease of Bahia LNG Regasification Terminal TR-BA and associated facilities.

Juliana assisted the Norges Bank Investment Management, the investment management department of Norges Bank, the central Bank of Norway, on several tax issues arising from its portfolio investments in Brazil.

Juliana assisted Enel Group in high profile administrative proceedings and lawsuits.
