DLA Piper welcomes Nicole Bertsch as an of counsel in the Government Affairs and Public Policy Practice

DLA Piper is pleased to welcome of counsel Nicole Bertsch to the Government Affairs and Public Policy Practice. She will be based in the Washington, DC office.

With more than 10 years of lobbying experience, Bertsch’s practice focuses on monitoring and analyzing legislative and regulatory proposals, helping clients develop advocacy strategies, and legal research. She advises clients in the healthcare space, including pharmaceutical companies, patient groups, providers, and scientific researchers, assisting them in identifying opportunities and leading them to legislative victories.

Bertsch also has extensive experience in the public pension space on tax, conflicts of interest, and fiduciary policies. She has represented clients on matters before Congress, federal agencies, and state governments. Bertsch excels at translating complex legislative and regulatory issues for a non-D.C. audience and has presented at several panels and conferences. She also worked in state government, having served on the staff of a Wisconsin state senator.

“We are excited to welcome Nicole to the firm where her comprehensive government knowledge and deep insights into Congress and regulatory issues will be an immediate asset to our clients,” said Steven Phillips, chair of DLA Piper’s Government Affairs and Public Policy Practice.
