Dimka Markova has a practice focused primarily on employment law matters related to the Labour Standards Act, and also some civil and commercial litigation.
In her employment law practice, she guides her clients through complex issues ranging from wrongful dismissal claims to privacy and data protection considerations. Her support extends to commercial transactions, ensuring smooth handling of employment-related aspects in the context of mergers and acquisitions. Dimka also defends employers in employment-related disputes.
On a day-to-day basis, Dimka advises provincially and federally regulated employers on all aspects of their labour relations, including labour standards, hiring, dismissal and termination procedures, performance management, disciplinary measures, and the drafting and implementation of employment contracts and workplace policies. She also provides strategic advice on a range of issues, including health and safety, harassment and discrimination claims.
Prior to joining the firm, Dimka practiced at a Montreal-based firm in the areas of employment and transportation law. While attending law school at the University of Ottawa she worked with the Commission des services juridiques de Gatineau, Youth Section. With a keen interest in health law, Dimka began a Master’s degree in Law and Health Policy at the University of Sherbrooke in 2021.
