DLA Piper’s Sanctions Matrix Quarterly Update – October 2024
The next edition of our quarterly Sanctions Matrix, October 2024 issue is now available.
The Matrix summaries all US, UK, EU and Canada sanctions currently in force and is updated on a quarterly basis.
Key updates in the October 2024 edition include:
- In the US, key updates include the imposition of blocking sanctions against individuals and entities determined to have, among other things, directed, planned, ordered or participated in violence, seizure or damage to property or acts that threaten peace, security or stability of the West Bank.
- In the UK, key developments include the expansion of trade sanctions targeting Iran and the introduction of an autonomous UK sanctions regime targeting Mali (following the expiry of UN measures).
- The main development in the EU is the adding of persons and organisations to several sanctions regulations, ie with regards to Russia.
- In Canada, an additional round of sanctions on Belarus and Russia, as well as the abolition of Canada’s Mali sanctions regime.
