DLA Piper appoints new partner to London Real Estate team
DLA Piper is further strengthening its Real Estate practice with the appointment of James Knox as a partner in its London Office. He joins the firm from BCLP later this year.
James has spent much of his career at Linklaters, before moving to BCLP just over 10 years ago. He is highly regarded in the market and his appointment will provide further strengthens the firms strategy of undertaking complex multi-jurisdictional Real Estate investment transactions.
James has a particular focus on cross border real estate investment, predominately into the UK and Europe with a client base largely consisting of Sovereign Wealth Funds, RE Private Equity investors and global funds.
Commenting on the appointment, UK Head of Real Estate, William Naunton, said:
“The UK Real Estate team continues to build its reputation for working on increasingly complex, multi-jurisdictional Real Estate investment transactions. James brings with him a wealth of experience based largely around transactional work for large investors on structured deals. He is very highly regarded in the market and we are delighted to welcome him to the team.”
James’s appointment is yet another example of the firm’s commitment to developing its global Real Estate offering, following on from a number of partner hires within the past 12 months. Bonnie Calnan joined the London office from Dentons in June as did Jonny Powling from Addleshaw Goddard, Stephanie Lambert joined the Sydney team from Holman Fenwick Willan in April, Marc Bartholomy and a team of three joined the Moscow office in March from Clifford Chance and Joseph Spinks from Linklaters joined the Brussels team in September last year.
