Wilson Lung is a Senior Associate in DLA Piper's Intellectual Property & Technology team based in our Hong Kong office.
Wilson advises Chinese, Hong Kong, and multinational clients across a wide variety of sectors including consumer goods, food & retail, media, sport & entertainment, hospitality & leisure, financial services, life sciences, and technology, on both contentious and non-contentious areas of intellectual property law. He has acted for global clients on brand protection and improvement strategies, as well as trademark and copyright registration, prosecution, and portfolio management in Asia and beyond. Wilson has also appeared before the Trade Marks Registry of Hong Kong as sole counsel, and has experience in advising clients in overcoming difficult trademark office actions.
In addition, Wilson has experience in conducting due diligence and issuing legal opinions on intellectual property rights, as well as preparing, negotiating and implementing assignments, licensing and franchising agreements, joint venture agreements, settlement and co-existence agreements, confidentiality agreements, artiste agreements, and other commercial agreements involving intellectual property.
Previously trained in both litigation and intellectual property, Wilson represents clients in pursuing, defending, and settling trademark and copyright-related claims, including urgent injunction applications, in the High Court of Hong Kong. He also assists clients in trademark oppositions, invalidations, revocations, and related appellate and administrative proceedings in Hong Kong, China and Southeast Asia. Wilson also has experience in coordinating intellectual property investigations and administrative, civil, and online enforcement actions throughout Greater China.
Wilson was recognised as a "Rising Star" in Intellectual Property by Asialaw Leading Lawyers 2017, and a "Rising Star" in Intellectual Property by Managing Intellectual Property IP STARS annually since 2019.
