Breegan Mayrant works closely with companies with U.S. operations to support them with federal, state and local employment compliance matters.
Breegan's counseling experience involves all aspects of the employment relationship, including those related to Title VII, the ADA, the FLSA and the FMLA. Breegan prepares employment agreements, including agreements containing restrictive covenants to protect employers' business interests and confidential information or trade secrets, and separation and release agreements. She often advises employers with respect to hiring practices, employee discipline and discharge decisions, reductions in force, employee complaints and internal investigations. Breegan also guides employers on developing and implementing employee handbooks and policies and advises on establishing efficient policy management systems that balance legal compliance with company culture and risk appetite.
Breegan also represents employers in connection with a wide variety of wage and hour disputes brought pursuant to the FLSA, as well as claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful discharge. Among other things, she has assisted numerous clients with audits and investigations conducted by federal and state government agencies (e.g., the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the U.S. Department of Labor).
Breegan's practice is also focused on advising private-equity funds and companies on employment matters in connection with mergers, acquisitions, sales and other corporate transactions. Breegan handles all employment-related aspects of those transactions, including purchase agreements, restrictive covenants, employment documentation, due diligence and workforce integration.
