Diego Bilbao concentrates his practice on intellectual property and technology. He has advised national and international clients in Chile and abroad on the identification, management and protection of trademarks, patents, domain names, trade secrets, software and copyrights.
He collaborates with clients in planning and developing brands and technologies with a strategic focus on the comprehensive protection and valorization of their commercial identity. In addition, he guides clients' research and development (R&D) areas for early and global protection of innovations and value creations.
He also advises exploiting intellectual property assets, including transactions, transfer and assignment agreements, due diligence, co-existence agreements, licensing and franchising.
He has extensive experience in defending and enforcing intellectual property rights, including trademark infringement suits, invention patents, copyrights, trade secrets, domain name revocations and litigation on acts of unfair competition before the Courts. He has also elaborated legal strategies in contentious matters before the Chilean Patent and Trademark Office.
