Remke Scheepstra practices in the area of employment and labour law. She advises national and international companies on all aspects of collective and individual employment law and the interface between employment law and corporate law, with particular focus on organisational design, corporate restructuring, harmonization and integration of employment benefits packages, employee consultation and (European) works councils and litigation.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising a client in the chemical industry on the consultation with its works council(s) with regard to the intended move of its headquarter from the south of the Netherlands to Amsterdam and assisting in the litigation procedure regarding the same before the Enterprise chamber.
  • Advising a client in the pharma industry with regard to the employment aspects related to the sale of part of its company, including the consultation with the works council.
  • Assisting a client in the IMT industry in the winding down and ultimately the closure of its Dutch facility.
  • Assisting a client in the pharma industry in implementing a collective dismissal, including works council consultation, negotiating a social plan with the relevant trade unions and individual terminations.
  • Advising a client in the retail industry about the consultation requirements in EMEA with regard to several organisational changes and coordinating the implementation thereof.
  • At the request of a client in the retail industry performing an investigation into (potential) transgressive behaviour of a senior manager.
