DLA Piper advises EQT Ventures on USD14.4 million seed funding round in Payrails
DLA Piper has advised EQT Ventures on a USD14.4 million seed funding round into Payrails GmbH, a payments operating system for marketplaces and platforms. The funding round was led by EQT Ventures and also involved existing investors a16z, HV Capital and new investor General Catalyst.
The Berlin-based FinTech company Payrails has developed an innovative global platform to help large organisations simplify and optimise their payment operations. With the fresh capital, the FinTech will advance its product development to solve the complex payment processing challenges of existing and new customers and advance its go-to-market strategy.
EQT Ventures is the venture capital fund of EQT, a purpose-driven global investment organization. The fund invests globally in fast-growing, innovative and technology-driven companies across all sectors, with a focus on Europe and the US.
The DLA Piper team was led by Frankfurt-based partner Andreas Füchsel and senior associate Philipp Meyer (both Private Equity/M&A).
