Diane Hwang practises intellectual property law with a focus on patent and trademark litigation.
Diane has worked alongside senior counsel to provide strategic advice to clients on the protection of their intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, and industrial designs. Diane frequently assists clients throughout all stages of their intellectual property disputes, including providing pre-litigation opinions, drafting court filings, and representing clients at court hearings. Diane also assists with drafting agreements related to the development, licensing, and transfer of intellectual property, as well as all aspects of regulatory compliance, including food and beverage requirements, advertising claims, medical device and natural health product licensing, and packaging and labelling compliance.
During law school, Diane worked with Pro Bono Students Canada to assist the Canadian Environmental Law Association, and co-founded an online notary company with a focus on providing remote services during the pandemic. Prior to earning her J.D., Diane obtained a degree in environmental studies and urban studies from the University of Toronto and later became licensed as a paralegal.
Diane summered and articled with the firm before joining as an associate in 2023.
