Alex has extensive experience handling a wide range of environmental, construction, employment, and insurance defence litigation matters.
Alex practises civil and commercial litigation for a number of clients, including construction companies, oil and gas companies, car dealerships, insurance companies, and pension funds. Alex focuses on environmental law, employment law, life insurance and long term disability defence work, as well as pensions and benefits litigation.
Alexandra is a member of the firm's civil litigation department. She has extensive experience in a wide variety of complex commercial and contractual disputes and has successfully appeared in every level of the Court of Alberta, every level of the Court of the Northwest Territories, and has appeared in the Federal Tax Court. She is also a member of the Saskatchewan bar, where she deals with complex environmental disputes.
Alexandra’s extensive expertise in complex environmental law litigation includes alleged contamination in the civil context, advising clients regarding environmental liability, and defending environmental prosecutions under federal and provincial legislation, including two prominent prosecutions under the Fisheries Act. She has also successfully acted for entities charged with regulatory offences under the Safety Codes Act and Cemeteries Act.
