DLA Piper advises GE in health care business spin-off
DLA Piper has acted as Global Coordinator for GE in the separation of its health care business and subsequent launch of GE HealthCare Technologies Inc., a global leader in precision health care.
The spin-off of GE HealthCare will create a global leader in Precision Care with more than 4 million product installations and more than 2 billion patient exams a year. Trading in the newly created companies stock started on the Nasdaq exchange on 4th January 2022.
The spin-off is the first part of GE’s plan, announced in November 2021, to form three industry-leading global public companies focused on aviation, health care and energy. The upcoming spin-off of GE’s energy business, GE Vernova, will be executed in early 2024, with the remaining business becoming GE Aerospace.
The DLA Piper team was led by Corporate partner Ben Forgiel-Jenkins and supported by Senior Partner Jon Hayes, Corporate Legal Director Paul Routledge, Senior Associate Chloe Bray and Head of Legal Project Management Victoria Harris.
