Camilla Wollan is a partner in Finance & Projects at the Oslo office. Camilla has broad experience and expertise within the various aspects of Norwegian capital markets legislation. She provides assistance in connection with framework legislation and regulatory issues for investment firms, UCITS funds and Non-UCITS (AIFMD), payment undertakings, credit institutions and foreign exchange undertakings, and with a special focus on offering of cross-border financial services and products within the EU/EEA. Furthermore Camilla Wollan assists in connection with the issuing of high yield bond loans and appurtenant issues. Assistance is provided to banks and financial institutions, full-service investment firms, financial advisory firms and asset managers.
While at DLA Piper Camilla Wollan has for longer periods of time, been on partial secondments with a Nordic bank, amongst others to provide assistance in the Capital Market and Custody functions, and with a full-service Norwegian investment firm. During earlier employments Camilla has participated in the establishment of SpareBank 1 Markets AS as an investment firm, and held a position as lawyer with Nordic Trustee ASA, where she worked with the restructuring of bond issuances in 2008-2009. Camilla has excellent academic results and she has been employed in one of Norway’s major law firms and worked for several years with corporate and finance law. She began her career as a concern trainee in Storebrand ASA and participated in the establishing of If Skadeforsikring in Sweden.
Camilla Wollan assists with legal issues connected to regulation of undertakings subject to supervision, (including acting on cross-border or passporting within the EU) and how to set up the business, hereunder outsourcing of services, preparation of client documentation, advising in connection with structuring of financial services and products, set up of online trade platforms etc. Included in this kind of assistance is the preparation of application for permits and dispensations, as well as contact with public authorities. Camilla has worked with the setting up of hedge funds outside of Norway and provides assistance to fund companies and asset managers. Upon assistance in connection with issuing of bond loans this usually comprises negotiations of terms for the loan and preparation of the loan documentation, including securities and assisting in dialogue with Nordic Trustee, the paying agent, etc.
