DLA Piper advises Catella Real Estate on the acquisition of three logistics properties

DLA Piper has advised Catella Real Estate AG on the acquisition of a logistics portfolio for the “Catella Logistik Deutschland Plus” (CLD+) fund from a DWS real estate fund.

The portfolio consists of three cross-dock logistics warehouses in Nuremberg, Mainz and Iserlohn in Germany. The three almost identical buildings, constructed in 2016, have a total rentable area of 15,163 m² as well as truck, van and car parking spaces. The sole tenant is Deutsche Post, which uses the properties as last-mile cross-dock sorting and delivery bases for supplying Nuremberg, Mainz and Iserlohn and the surrounding areas.

The “Catella Logistik Deutschland Plus” (CLD+) fund has a target volume of around 350 million euros and invests in sustainable warehouse and logistics properties in Germany and neighboring countries. The investment focus is on properties in good and prime locations in established logistics regions, close to transport hubs and conurbations, as well as production centers.

The DLA Piper team was jointly led by partners Dr Martin Haller and Dr Manuel Indlekofer and also included senior associates Thomas Herbst, Dr Lilian Gutkin, associate Sophia Aiello (all Real Estate, Munich) and senior transaction lawyer Alexander Ebner.

Partner Dr Marie-Theres Rämer, senior associate Albina Daka and tax consultant Sabrina Ulbrich (all Frankfurt) advised on tax aspects of the transaction.
