David Booth has over a decade of legal experience in providing pragmatic and commercial legal advice in technology and commercial transactions. He oversees a market-leading team of lawyers who are committed to supporting clients with their most important technology and commercial matters.

David provides clients with innovative legal solutions for complex, strategic, and business-critical IT, outsourcing and commercial projects. 

He has advised clients across a broad range of sectors, including, technology, manufacturing, telecoms, and financial services. David engages with clients, helping to shape their legal strategy and achieve organisational objectives and competitive advantage.

He plays a pivotal role in supporting the national and international leadership of DLA Piper’s Technology, Industrials and Financial Services Practice Groups. 

A former computer programmer that is passionate about artificial intelligence, David is also a leading member of DLA Piper’s strategic outlook for the use of technology and artificial intelligence, building on recognition by the FT as one of the world’s top 10 law firms for innovation.

He is leading the firm’s approach to artificial intelligence both nationally and internationally and supporting globally influential organisations with their procurement and use of artificial intelligence, ranging from a major UK financial regulatory body to multinational leaders in manufacturing and technology.

  • Molson Coors on the outsourcing of manufacturing, canning and packaging functions critical in the implementation of the client’s strategic plans across Europe.
  • A confidential major UK financial regulatory body on its contracting approach for the use of artificial intelligence.
  • Manchester City Council on the development of a comprehensive contracting framework for the procurement of major IT products and services.
